Dolphin Lamp Standards Swimming Far Away

I'm back on the streets leading tours in London after a short break hiking in the Scottish Borders, where I spotted this…

George John Vulliamy designed the ornamental sturgeon lamp bases - often called Dolphin Lamp Standards - along the Thames Embankment in London for a competition in 1870. This specimen is a long way from home - on the Tweed Bridge at Peebles.

This blog features photos snapped with either a Canon 500D or an iPhone6 as I make my way Londoning around leading & researching my tours. I hope you enjoy them. If you'd like to join me on a scheduled London tour, you can book me here…

Keep In Touch…
