No Barbecuing

Sign on the gate of East Finchley Cemetery & crematorium garden of remembrance where many of us take our lockdown constitutional. I wonder... does the “No Barbecuing” sign compromise the business of the crematorium? P.S Seriously, guys? A barbecue in a cemetery? East Finchley Cemetery

These permanent residents of East Finchley are often the first to hear my new tours – this is where I walk when I'm rehearsing my new walking and virtual tours.  This blog features photos snapped with either a Canon 500D or an iPhone6 or an iPhone11 as I make my way Londoning around leading & researching my tours. London Garden Life

Image
As the long journey back to some kind of normality begins, I'll be sharing a few pics snapped during the Lockdown period here in London March - July 2020  I don't think I have spent this much time in the garden since I was about seven years old.  Our Summer House - stop calling it a shed! 🤣🤣🤣 – has been a particular Godsend during lockdown. It's seen a lot of action, particularly during the glorious spring. I draft my virtual tours here , starting with a pen and paper, proper old school. I've been giving short music performances from here, too - my Tiny Garden Concerts on social media. The Northern Line thunders just behind the trees - a sound that I have found reassuringly urban during lockdown. In the months when I stayed away from my beloved central London, the cacophonous music of the tube every few minutes has been, believe it or not, soothing. Bizarre. Like everything else about these times.  This blog features photos snapped with either a Canon 500D or an i...

Virtual Photobomb

As the long journey back to some kind of normality begins, I'll be sharing a few pics snapped during the Lockdown period here in London March - July 2020…   Lockdown's greatest four-letter word: Zoom. The virtual tours have been a lot of fun – and they're not done yet. We've taken regular tours for family groups, corporate groups and scheduled tours for clients from all across the globe.  "At last I feel like I've actually DONE something with my night!" wrote Tracey Peace of her Ghosts of the Old City Tour about a month into lockdown. I even did a dance class (participated NOT hosted!) wit the wonderful Meyer Dancers via Zoom. Here I am being photobombed by Karen (above) on Zoom. What did you get up to via Zoom during lockdown? Rainbows No.1

As the long journey back to some kind of normality begins, I'll be sharing a few pics snapped during the Lockdown period here in London March - July 2020.  I absolutely LOVED the rainbows - and watching the children spot them was fun, too. This spectacular example – flying across THREE bins! – was painted by my friend Joe and his sons Albert, Louis and Oscar…  This blog features photos snapped with either a Canon 500D or an iPhone6 or an iPhone11 as I make my way Londoning around leading & researching my tours. Rise & Shine No.1

As the long journey back to some kind of normality begins, I'll be sharing a few pics snapped during the Lockdown period here in London March - July 2020 I won't miss the early mornings… I took great consolation from social media seeing how many others were up-and-about at un-Godly hours during the early stages of the pandemic. I've renamed the hours between 4am and 6 am as Quality Worrying Time. Saw some great sunrises, tho… How did you get through the Covid Insomnia?
